1/4 cord of seasoned firewood - 42 cubic feet; 4'x6'x16" (log length)
Before placing your seasoned firewood order, please note that we are recommending purchasing our kiln dried firewood at this point in the season. While our seasoned wood is fully sap dried, we are at the bottom of our pile where it has been sitting all year. Best stacking practice for seasoned wood is late summer, early fall.
Please consider the kiln dried wood, especially if you are burning in a fireplace.
All of our seasoned wood is stored outside in the elements. Seasoned firewood needs to be stacked OUTSIDE in order to dry out properly. DO NOT stack seasoned wood in a garage or shed, it will not get the proper air flow and heat needed to pull any access moisture remaining in wood.
Our current stock of seasoned firewood has been cut at log length for 2 years. It's been recently split into firewood pieces, and they are rather large. It is a mixture of all hard woods, such as beech, oak, birch and maple. Log lengths range from 16"-20".
It would be okay for wood stoves! If you're burning in a fireplace, we recommend having a rotation process going --> Bring as much wood as you can into your home and store next to your fireplace or wood burning stove. Each time you have a fire, the heat will pull the moisture out of the firewood logs next to the fire, ready to go in the fire next. Use the firewood from inside your house to get your fire started, and refill the supply as needed.
